March 1, 2014 is the day of the Phoenix Marathon.
When Mom was visiting us in August we decided to sign up for our 2nd marathon together. After we signed up I kind of forgot about it. I realized it was coming up quick and it took me a LONG time to get motivated!! Once the holidays rolled around I REALLY had no motivation. Mostly because I was SO busy working I wasn't making running a priority like I should have! Once I finally started running I realized how out of shape I was! Last year when I signed up for the Disney Marathon I started training very early! So I panicked for a little while and then told myself I just had to get out there and start running. I'm finally starting to feel like I've got a groove.
Consistency is HUGE.
I printed out calendars of each training month and color coded the days by mileage and rest days.
I also found a running partner! A girl from church who I quickly bonded with played a huge part in motivating me and getting me started, now she is signed up for a race too so it has been great having each other to get out of bed in the morning. We make a plan and stick to it. I really have nothing to complain about, last winter I was toward the end of my training doing LONG runs in the frigid lands of Idaho! I have NOTHING to complain about here in sunny Arizona! Sorry Mom and Suzette! I really do feel for you running in those cold temps, fog, ice, snow, mist, wind, sleet...am I missing anything? ; )
I am also signed up for the Color Vibe run in February and am SO SO SO excited for that one! I found some great quotes from their Facebook page I thought were worth stealing...and sharing.

My longest run so far this training is 16 miles. Looking forward to 17 this Saturday!! I DO enjoy running, mostly when I have a goal in sight. I'm super excited for another Marathon. I'm hoping to redeem myself after running my last marathon with pneumonia.
It was a miracle I finished! Remember that HERE...
It's fine. I ran today.
love it all!
