crunch time

Two weeks from today I will (hopefully) have completed my first MARATHON.

CRAZY.

I am starting to get very nervous/excited. I'm ready for it to be over...all this running is starting to take a toll on my body and I'm ready for a rest. I do enjoy my toned calves and hope I can keep working out, but knock the 25+ miles a week to somewhere around 10. All the snow we've been getting the past week is making it hard to run outside, and 10 miles on the treadmill is pure torture.

We leave a week from Friday and fly to Orlando. The Marathon is Sunday and hopefully I'll be up and ready to hit the Disney Magic Kingdom on Tuesday with the whole family. We are looking forward to warmer weather and a fun little vaca.

...As long as I don't die during the race.

I'm really proud of myself and the dedication I've had in training. It's been a great help following the same training schedule as my Mom. It was fun being in Iowa for a few weeks this summer and fall and being able to run together, so I hope we can stick together though-out the race. PLUS we need to take pictures of each other with the disney characters along the way! SO FUN. I don't have a specific time goal, but I would like to finish under 5 hours and stay around a 10:30 mile. Hopefully no problems arise. I keep pretty positive, but 26 miles is a freaking long way to run! Ha!

I'm excited to shed the hat, scarf, long sleeve tee, hoodie, leggings, pants, and gloves.
I'm ready to run in shorts again...

See you in a few days Florida.

Christmas time

It was a great Christmas this year.
We are so blessed.
It's such a wonderful time of year to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
We are still in Idaho and are enjoying this time that we have to spend with family.

Our holiday was filled with food and family- like I'm sure most of yours was!

This pretty much sums up our Christmas Eve dinner

Stockings were hung by the fire with care

The girlies: Me, Cathy, Beth and Heather

We enjoyed Christmas Eve with the family here.
We missed Tamio, Anna, Enzo, Kobe and Elodie this year : (

It was a quiet Christmas morning and Jordan and Heather came over with the boys for Christmas dinner, then we took off to see Les Miserables. We LOVED it. We spent the rest of the day enjoying each others company and playing with the new gadgets Santa brought : )

We were good this year

Can't believe it's almost 2013!

abbie louise

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBIE!

Abbie and I have been BEST friends since FOREVER! Today is her birthday!!
I'm super disappointed that all of the old embarrassing pictures of us are packed away in a box somewhere in storage. If I knew which box I would go digging, seriously, but I don't so I'll just have to settle for the few I have on my computer.

Abbie and I have made so many memories together and after I left for college I was worried about us being so far away, but distance makes the heart grow fonder, right? So almost 9 years later we are still best friends and I know we always will be! Abbie came to visit me in all the crazy places I've lived since high school. She's the best.

Our grandmothers were best friends and we are best friends.
I love you, Abbie!

These are a few pics from when Ab came to visit me in Texas a few years ago

Can't wait to see you in April when YOU will be in the white dress!

lights and a camel

Monday night we got together with some of our good friends and went for a drive in the hills to see some pretty awesome Christmas lights. We had a blast and all the kiddos loved it. It was chilly but we bundled up and walked through the lights as it snowed, embracing the Christmas spirit.

We got to feed the Camel baby carrots

The flu hit us this week and I'm still trying to get back to 100%.
Being sick is no fun, but I had a sweet husband who took good care of me.
