photo shoot fail

The big two year anniversary and I was soooo excited to take some cute photos of me and my babe.
I'm one of those cheesy people who wants a photo on the exact day every year so I can make a memory book or something sorta lame that I might never get around to,
BUT I'm always looking for an excuse to have a fun little photo shoot.
I was super excited to go across the street and take some photos in the natural light in the bright green grass.
I had this amazing picture in my head of how I wanted them to turn out,
but we had some serious problems...

1. We had to use the self-timer.
2. I don't have a tri-pod.
3. I don't have a remote for the timer.
4. We were using the self-timer!!!!
5. We couldn't find big enough rocks to angel the camera up with.
6. The camera was so low I couldn't look through the viewfinder to set the focus!
7. WE WERE USING THE SELF-TIMER.

It was a mess and I was soooo disappointed! Almost in tears as we walked home without a single decent photo. Seriously. When we got home my sweet Eric said...
"Why don't we just take some inside??"
So we did and I posted the best shot last.

This is my annoyed face.

This is my mad face.

This is the grass in focus and my head cut off.

He's cute.

Great shot, right?? Too bad we aren't in FOCUS!
If we were I would have photoshopped the kids out of the background.

HAPPY TWO YEARS!

  1. A trick with using the self timer: pick a fixed object (in this case Eric sitting in the spot you want him in), auto focus in on him, without moving the camera switch it to manual focus, set the timer, join him in the picture and voila, you're in focus. :) also, remotes are only 20 bucks-if self portraits are going to be a regular thing you should totally get one.
