HELP! I have been trying to shake this horrible sickness that I have been feeling for a while now and thought that moving out of America would help me to feel better, maybe living on a tropical island filled with fun things like going to the beach everyday, picking mangos from a mango tree, hiking up a volcano and basking in 82 degree weather would help my sickness, but to my dismay is seems to be getting worse. I finally sat down with my husband Eric, who is in his second term of medical school, and told him I need him to diagnose me ASAP. After a very thorough examination Eric diagnosed me with a...Reality TV show addiction. Pretty much everything in my life right now revolves around what TV show is on that night, especially when DVR and TiVo are NOT an option for me here. This is a very enjoyable sickness. First let's start with Monday.
Monday
Monday night is Dancing With The Stars. I have always enjoyed watching this show, but my addiction began when I was living at home in Iowa with my parents who LOVE it, slowly I caved in and before I knew it I was watching every Monday with them. This season I am loving Hines Ward. He is doing so well! All the other football players that have been on the show in seasons past have just not been up to par, but Hines can do it all! I'm really rooting for him in the finals!
Tuesday
Tuesday night is The Biggest Loser. What an inspiring show! I usually catch this show about half way through the season and then can't stop watching until the very end! Everyone is working through a tough time in their lives. Olivia is a very strong competitor and won't give up on her ultimate goal of winning! Go Olivia!
Tuesday night is also the Dancing With The Stars Results Show, results shows are usually not that exciting, unless you enjoy watching some pop singer lip sync a song or dare to sing live and make everyone wonder why they are so great in the first place. So I usually switch it over during commercials and wait till the last five minutes to catch who is in the bottom two and see who is a goner.
I should probably mention The Voice too. This show just started and I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it. Maybe it will get it's own post in the near future...
Wednesday
Wednesday is Survivor and is my absolute favorite! I have watched this show since season 1. My dad is a huge fan of the show and it was a special something that we would always share together from when I was in high school and when I moved to Idaho. We would always talk about what was going on with Survivor! This seasons finale was on Sunday and Boston Rob took the tile of Sole Survivor! This is Rob's 4th time on the show and he finally got his victory by playing a near perfect game!
Wednesday is also the night of American Idol. Since Survivor is my #1 show, I would dedicate the whole hour to this show and then catch the last hour of American Idol, which caused me to usually watch the first hour online the next morning, just to see what i'd missed.
Thursday
Thursday is dedicated entirely to the results show of American Idol. I have found the show to be a little disappointing this year, just due to the fact that I truly miss Simon and am not at all impressed with Steven OR JLo. Randy is about the same which is fine, but I would not be sad to see any of them gone after this season.
The judges are BLLaaa but the competition is fierce! I have mostly just enjoyed the show to watch the amazing talent. Each person really does grow more and more each week and my money is on Haley! NOT a fan of Scotty not only because i despise the name, but of the 3 that are left Haley is my favorite! I love her uniqueness and let's face it, she's gorgeous!
Sunday
Now we skip to Sunday! I have never watched an entire season of Celebrity Apprentice until now. I got sucked into this season from the beginning, and once you start there is NO stopping! The season is almost over and John Rich is my pick. He has been great the entire show and I hope he can take it all this Sunday in the finale. Donald Trump is well...Donald Trump, but gives these stars a great opportunity to raise money for charity. John's charity is St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Isn't he just the cutest too? No wonder he's such a star, he's got the look AND the talent. Yay for John...we'll see what happens on Sunday! Did I mention I saw him in concert in Nashville? Yep. he's my favorite.
Well, that's that. How pathetic am I? Hopefully there are others who suffer from this horrible sickness. Maybe one day I will find a cure, but as of now I am completely satisfied with my diagnosis.
oooooh, i love haley, too!!!! as far as your addiction is concerned, well this is perfect timing to try and fix it cause it's the end of the season for all these shows. So finish watching them and then when they start again next season just purposely don't turn your TV on. ignorance is bliss, right??!! That whole "getting sucked in" thing can't happen if the TV isn't on! Do you have DVR? if you know there's a show you can't live without then i'd just record it and watch it later so it doesn't suck up your whole life. when i record and watch American Idol it's I seriously fast forward through 45 minutes of commercials. I can get all the info and not miss anything in just like, a half hour. It's awesome.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's a sickness... I have it too..whatever it is. We watch a lot of the same shows toO! haha Love it!
ReplyDeleteThat's my girl! :)
ReplyDeleteBethany- DVR is NOT an option on this little island! If i was i would be recording shows like crazy!! i have to watch it old school, commercials and all.
ReplyDeleteps- NOT happy about idol. i refuse to watch the finale if scotty has any chance at winning!
